Baylor Hires Art Briles

As I had mentioned earlier this week, I think this is a great choice for Baylor. Around the state and nationally, folks are saying "Good hire" on Briles. One of my fav sites, www.coacheshotseat.com, has a good analysis of Briles that is encouraging to the Bear faithful. Hopefully, Briles will still be there in 8 years when my older daughter gets there. Not that she'll care.

Well Head, some are quite worked up over the Briles hire, I am not one of them.

I just felt we needed a big name coach to rival that of Brown, Stoops, and ... Patterson?

Without even blinking, I set my sites on a Nutt, or a Bowden. This, I reasoned, was the only way we in Bearland could claw our way out of the quagmire that is the Big 12 South.

With the likes of TU, OU, atm, Okie lite, and the other schools, quite frankly, we have our work cut out for us. But if we could have pulled a Nutt, I feel we could have been instantly competitive. Nevermind that our recruiting classes have been in the toilet of the Big 12.

I hope I am dead wrong on this, but I will need to see 6 wins in a season to change my mind. See what you are dealing with, OU wants 6 wins in the first half of a season, we would be happy to have 6 wins in the same season!

Oh brother...

With Bearmeat dropping off the face of the earth. I needed something to occupy my time. And althought it will never rival the greatness of the three dead guys, feel free to drop by my new blog at:

Poop - IMO, Nutt is nuts http://wholehogsports.com/adg/187710/ If I were a Baylor alum, that would scare me away a bit. Bowden (Clemson one, not ABC broadcaster) would be a good move, but why would you take the demotion? I was a season ticket holder through the Blake years, I know what it's like to be pleased with six wins. That took us two years. Will take a peek at the blog. Thx for the heads up.
